Dracula the musical is brought to the Ilford stage by Stage One Theatre Company.
THE infamous blood-thirsty Count rises from the dead to stalk the Kenneth More Theatre stage this week in the musical Dracula.
Stage One Theatre Company presents the London premiere of the hit Broadway musical based on Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel.
Stage One’s artistic director Jai Sepple takes the lead role.
Love songs feature heavily in the score, written by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde and Scarlet Pimpernel), but Jai insists this version of the tale is faithful to the book.
“It’s very much the traditional story that we have stuck with. We wanted it to have the gothic Victorian feel to it.”
He added that the play had a realistic twist in the relationship of the cast, with his wife, Harri, playing Dracula’s bride.
Dracula opens at the theatre in Oakfield Road, Ilford, tomorrow (Thursday) and runs until Saturday.
Tickets are £13 from the box office on 020 8553 4466.
