The recent good news about the successful vaccine trials indicates a Covid-19 vaccination programme is becoming a likely scenario sooner, rather than later.

It has been four months since I last wrote this column and no one could have predicted then exactly how much our lives, and the lives of almost everyone on the planet would change, and be so impacted by, a virus!

Every year for 19 days in March, Baha’is all over the world participate in a period of fasting where, from sunrise to sunset, food and liquid are not consumed.

We are, by nature, creatures of habit. And, when that habit is a positive one that enhances our lives and personalities, we see habit as possibly one of the greatest assets we possess.

Reflecting on Brexit the other day made me realize we are in a unique stage in the history of mankind.

During the Second World War the British government initiated an extensive anti-gossip campaign with the most memorable posters, designed by Fougasse, showing caricature figures of Hitler and Goehring listening in to people giving away secrets whilst chatting in public places.

I have been watching the Winter Olympics over the past few weeks and marvelling at the tenacity and determination of the young, and not so young athletes striving to achieve and better their personal best.
