Prince William quipped his brother Harry ‘cheated’ against Usain Bolt after admitting he is like a ‘giraffe on ice’ on the football pitch.

The future king of England failed to convert two attempts on a pitch in south London, yesterday.

He was at Bacon’s College with youngsters as part of a scheme to train up young coaches.

“Watching me on the football field is never a pretty sight - the expression ‘giraffe on ice’ springs to mind,” said William.

“However, it is marginally less embarrassing than seeing my brother cheat his way to becoming the fastest man on the planet.”

Harry jokingly distracted Bolt when the pair raced in March – and then jumped the gun to get a head start.

William took the opportunity to praise his wife’s sporty prowess after she had enjoyed a game of table tennis against 13-year-old Hiba Feredj, but the 30-year-old brunette only managed to win two points out of 10.

He added: “Catherine, on the other hand, with a tennis racquet or a hockey stick is something to behold and be aware of.”
