Voltage, real name Tyae Osborne, has been making waves since releasing his first offering in 2007

He studied at Portsmouth University but decided to leave as he felt his future was in the music industry.

Now 22, his new mixtape – Fully Charged – has the seal approval from the UK’s most successful urban music artists including collaborations with Dot Rotten, Mic Righteous, Krept and Konan, Scruffizzer and Maxsta.

He told the Recorder: “Fully Charged is a reflection on how I’ve grown as an artist. I’ve worked with live musicians – drummers, guitarists and singers – and new producers to come up with a brand new sound. I’m still the same grime artist from East London but it’s important to evolve your music to stay fresh and bring something new to UK urban music.”

The mixtape will be followed by 12 video releases to add to his extensive library that has so far attracted over 1.5 million YouTube views. Voltage has worked with Chas Appeti – video director to Sneakbo and Lethal Bizzle – to create visual interpretations of his music. Previous videos have gained support from Flava TV, Channel AKA, SBTV, Linkup TV, Grimedaily and music websites worldwide.

In the future he sees himself enjoying long success as a household name in urban music in the UK. He also wants to have success in the US as he feels that not many Urban artists from the UK have managed to break America but he feels that his versatility as an artist can appeal to a wider audience.
