“If Kings of Leon, Incubus and the Foo Fighters created a child together, it would spawn the EastEnd Promises” says the PR blurb for the four piece Indie/Rock band that hails from Newham.

Although they were formed in 2010, the lads have been busy carving out a reputation for themselves and are only now ready to release their debut single.

Comprising Lewis Youles (lead singer/bass), Fonzi Lafonz (guitars), Wayne Maynard (guitar/singer) and Iason Everitt (drums), EastEnd Promises are self taught and pride themselves on giving 110 per cent at every performance.

Lewis, brother Fonzi (real name Jake) and Wayne all went to school at Woodside in Beckton and then Royal Docks. Together with drummer Iason, they have been performing around London and Essex and have now signed with BH2 Records and Cadiz music publishers and distributors.

Their debut single, Troubled London, and album Alan & The Whitehorse are both due for release this year.

What is telling is their teaming up with BH2, a record label formed by Bridgehouse 2, a Canning Town venue regarded in the 70s and 80s as a mecca for new music. Any band that wanted to make it to the big time had to be seen playing the Bridge House.
