The ‘Especially For You’ duo’s turn in Hyde Park was washed out by record rainfall and mud, earlier this month.

But organiser Pete Waterman raised hopes the gig could still happen – near to Christmas.

“We are going to do it again at Christmas,” said the former pop svengali.

“We are going to do two nights at the 02 or at least one night, we’ve just got to confirm one artist who is due to go home for Christmas, I’ll give you a clue there.

“I just have to convince that artist to stay here until at least Christmas Eve and we can do it all the way we want to.”

Also hit by the cancellation of the Hit Factory show in Hyde Park were performances by Sonia, Bananarama and Dead Or Alive.
