The multi-million-pound Warner Brothers Studio Tour - The Making of Harry Potter will open at Leavesden, near Watford, Hertfordshire, where all eight films were made.

The attraction has been described by studio bosses as the “ultimate opportunity” for fans of JK Rowling’s magical stories to enter the sets of their favourite movies.

The three-hour walking tour’s attractions include the original Great Hall of Hogwarts School, built for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The hall features graffiti by Hogwarts’ pupils, solid oak and pine house tables which were built for the films, and York stone flooring laid more than 11 years ago.

Some of the most recognisable sets include Dumbledore’s office, Diagon Alley, the Ministry of Magic, 4 Privet Drive, Gryffindor common room and the Weasley kitchen.

People can ride on the famous broomsticks and visitors will also see close-ups of the costumes, animatronics, special effects and props seen by millions on TV and movie screens worldwide.

Sarah Roots, vice president of the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, said: “What makes this tour so special is that everything on show has been used in the making of the Harry Potter film series.

“All the sets, props and costumes are authentic and show the incredible detail and craftsmanship that goes into film production.

“All the films were shot at Leavesden so it’s wonderful to be giving the sets a permanent home here.”

A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £83. Individual tickets for people aged 16 and over are £28 and £21 for children aged five to 15.
