Bicycle ballet, Mad Hatter tea parties and Morris Men were just some of the attractions at this year’s Fairlop Fair.
Held at Fairlop Waters Country Park, the event attracted young and old alike who also enjoyed musical performances from the Woodford Choir, Roding Primary School Choir and the Valentines Singers.
Based on a historical fair founded in the 18th century by estate owner Daniel Day, the attraction has taken place for the last two years.
When Mr Day used to visit the site to collect his rents, he would take a party of friends to eat bacon and beans in the shade of the Fairlop Oak.
By around 1725 this private picnic had developed into a regular fair.
The grey skies failed to dampen the spirits of all those who attended the event on Saturday which also hosted a dog fashion show and a roller-disco.
