Blur play a secret gig on a London rooftop later today, ahead of next month’s huge Olympic Games closing concert in Hyde Park.
Two new songs are getting previewed at the mystery location between 6.15pm and 7.15pm, this evening.
‘Under the Westway’ and ‘The Puritan’ were written especially for next month’s concert by the Britpop legends.
It shall be another public reunion for front-man Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, Alex James the cheese producing bassist and the failed council candidate on drums.
Micro-blogging site Twitter is the place to listen in, with both songs going out live on Twitter.
There will likely be a chance to interact with band members on Twitter @blurofficial.
Labelling this evening’s performance “very exciting”, James said: “[The] two tracks show completely different sides to Blur.
“There’s the Puritan which is a big-and-bouncy sing–along special. The Westway is more a hymn. I think they’ll both go down very well.
“Being asked to close the Olympics is something we couldn’t really turn down.
