Creative types in need of cash can pick up tips for securing funds at Canning Town’s The Hub tomorrow (Thursday).
The Newham Arts Development Foundation will be hosting a guest speaker from the Arts Council England for their next monthly networking event at the venue at 123 Star Lane on June 21 from from 6-8pm.
Janine DeFeo, manager of the foundation, said: “We’re pleased to announce that our next monthly meeting will give our existing and new members the opportunity to gain an invaluable insight into Arts Council grants, how and what it funds, alongside tips for succesful applications, through our guest speaker from the Arts Council. There will also be a chance for Q&A’s at the end of the session.
“The common belief is that funding is only provided to art groups and artists. Our event will highlight the fact Arts Council funding can be available for any non-arts community or voluntary groups, for arts related activities including tailored art events, or simply activities for people to take part in where artists are involved.”
Newham Arts Development Foundation is open to all community and voluntary sector groups, including schools interested in the arts as well as professional and other artists. It holds events every third Thursday of the month to give artists and others interested in the arts the opportunity to meet and learn about what local artists are doing and opportunities for them locally.
