The King of Rock will meet the King of Pop for the first time in a unique tribute show which brings two of the biggest stars in music together on one stage.

Paying homage to superstars Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson, Sal Bashir and Aman Clement will transform themselves into the music legends for a joint show in Ilford, after meeting by chance.

Mr Bashir, of Canning Town, said: “I have performed as Elvis for 15 years, after growing up with his music.

“It all came about after I took part in a karaoke competition, and a number of people remarked that I sounded like him.

“After leaving what I called my proper job in the City, I took to the act full time after being convinced by friends and family.

“I have performed for the British forces and last year I was asked by Newham Council to perform during the opening and closing Olympic ceremonies at two special events.”

The 48-year-old, who says it is a great honour to be able to keep Elvis’ music alive, added: “When I first met Aman I thought why not bring these two acts together, they were both adored my millions, and we are excited to perform together.”

Mr Clement, 28, of Bristol, has been performing as Michael Jackson since he was 18, after being told he bared a striking resemblance to the singer.

He said: “It has taken years of training to perfect my act, especially to get the voice right. However the hardest thing has got to be singing and dancing at the same time, which is much harder than it looks.

“We get a fantastic reaction from audiences as we like to put on a good show for everyone.”
