Jai Birch and Rajan Rai had picked up gold and bronze in the London Foil tournament previously, but now it was the chance for the younger fencers to take centre stage.

In the boys’ under-14 event, English Youth Champion and under-15 international James Page took silver, while Swords team-mate Alice Campbell took bronze in the under-14 girls’ category.

In the boys’ under-11 age group, Ben Udrzal continued the successful tournament for the Swords after taking silver as Aiste Dambrauskaite picked up the bronze in the girls’ under-11 event.

Page, Campbell, Udrzal and Dambrauskaite will now prepare for the next Leon Paul National Junior Series event, taking place in Hertfordshire later this month.
