The highly-rated 19-year-old goalscorer, raised in Streatham, has signed with the Dons on an initial one-month loan deal. He could feature when the Dons travel to Morecambe on Saturday and is eligible for their FA Cup second tie against MK Dons.

Also Robert Hall has joined Birmingham, Blair Turgott has gone to Bradford City and Danny Potts has moved to Colchester United.

On McCallum’s switch Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley told Dons Player: “We have had rave reviews about Paul. I have had contacts ringing me up and telling me how good a player he is and I have spoken to Ian Hendon, his U21s manager at West Ham, and he believes Paul will be ideal for us. He is a big, strong lad, who links the play up well.”

McCallum has enjoyed a prolific season for the development squad, finding the net six times in eleven games. He will link up with academy graduate Callum McNaughton in south-west London.

McCallum’s and Potts’ loans provisionally run until December 22, Hall’s runs until January 12 and Turgott’s will expire on January 5.
