West Ham have earned 22 of their 33 points this season in their opening match of each month
Watch out Liverpool, West Ham are on a statistical roll and there is surely no stopping them.
We revealed last month when the Hammers beat Swansea City on February 2 that they had won every first game of the month this season, bar one draw against champions Manchester City.
And on Saturday at the Britannia Stadium they did it again with a 1-0 victory over Stoke City.
If you include the win over Aston Villa in their first game of the season, which was the first match they played in August, they have also beaten Fulham 3-0 on September 1, QPR 2-1 on October 1, Chelsea 3-1 on December 1, Norwich 2-1 on January 1, Swansea City 1-0 on February 2 and now Stoke City 1-0 on March 2.
Add to that the 0-0 draw that the team managed against champions Manchester City on November 3 and that is 22 of their 33 points gleaned in their opening match of each month!
So surely it is inevitable that the Hammers will beat Liverpool at Anfield for the first time since 1963 when the two meet on Sunday, April 7, before they take on Newcastle United at home on May 4 – their first match in May.
We shall see!
