Jose Figura was crowned the world’s best unsigned footballer and believes his tutelage at Redbridge College helped mould him into a winner.

The 19-year-old student was triumphant at the world final of Nike’s ‘The Chance’ in Barcelona – and now has the opportunity to travel the world as part of the Nike Academy Squad.

He said: “If it wasn’t for the guidance I received from my coaches at Redbridge College then I wouldn’t be as mature as I am now, on and off the pitch.”

Figura, who previously won the UK edition of the competition in June, travelled to Barcelona in August for a week of intensive training alongside 100 other ‘The Chance’ winners from 55 countries.
