If it’s true that familiarity breeds contempt, then Leyton Orient and Coventry must be sick of the sight of each other.

Tomorrow night’s match at Brisbane Road will be the fourth time the clubs have played each other this season.

The Sky Blues inflicted Orient’s first league defeat of the season back in October, but the O’s knocked tonight’s opponents out of both the Capital One Cup and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Boss Russell Slade said: “They’re an excellent side. They’re really good going forward and you can see that in their goals tally, they’re right up there with us.

“Without their 10 point deduction they’d be right in the mix and we’re expecting another difficult game.”

Slade’s men were knocked off the top of League One by London rivals Brentford and Coventry’s visit starts a run of six home games in eight.

Orient’s clash with Stevenage was postponed because their opponents had an FA Cup fourth round tie with Everton to contend with.

The manager said: “There’s nothing you can do about the game being called off.

“They’re just the cards we’re dealt and we’ll just have to try and beat Stevenage on a Tuesday night.”

Top scorer David Mooney is in contention to return to action after almost two months out through suspension and a foot injury.

The 29-year-old had scored 15 goals this season before his red card against Walsall in the FA Cup on December 7.

Marvin Bartley is also looking to make the squad after shaking off a combination of back and hamstring complaints.

Chris Dagnall will be hoping for a first O’s start against the team he was on loan at earlier this season.

The 27-year-old scored two goals as a substitute against Crewe on his debut.

Forward Shaun Batt and goalkeeper Jamie Jones are definitely out with long-term hamstring and back injuries respectively.
