Orient travel to Gillingham on Boxing Day looking to snap a run of four League One games without a win.

The O’s are still top of the table but only on goal difference, with Wolves and Brentford breathing down their necks.

They travel to Molineux to face second-placed Wolves on Sunday.

Orient won at Priestfield earlier this season in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy - thanks to a Shaun Batt hat-trick - but manager Russell Slade doesn’t think that result will have any bearing on the league game with the Gills a different side since Peter Taylor was reappointed as manager.

Elliott Omozusi returns from suspension while midfielder Dean Cox will hope to be available after missing the weekend defeat to Crawley through illness.

Striker David Mooney serves the final game of the ban he received for his sending off against Walsall in the FA Cup.

Loanee Josh Wright returned to Millwall last week after two substitute appearances for the Brisbane Road side.

Both Slade and captain Nathan Clarke are expecting a tough game in Kent.

Clarke said: “We can’t keep dwelling on the Crawley game and we need to move on.

“We’re expecting a reaction against Gillingham but we know it will be difficult. “We can’t look to forward ahead to the Wolves game. We’ve done our homework on Gillingham and hopefully we’ll come away with the three points.”

Slade added: “There are no easy games in this division.

“You can’t just turn up expecting to get three points. Gillingham have got a new manager from the last time we played them and there will be a different style and philosophy.

“It will present a different challenge to us but we need some momentum and consistency.”
