Orient boss Russell Slade thinks a point at Bradford could be important at the end of the season after Nahki Wells injury time equaliser denied them all three.

Lloyd James’ sublime opener looked like it would be enough to move the O’s three points clear at the top of League One before Wells’ late free-kick.

Slade said: “Places like this are difficult to come. The season won’t hinge on today.

“We’re disappointed with the late equaliser but you don’t know how important it will be at the end of the season.”

The manager praised the character of his side as they coped without their two top scorers.

David Mooney was suspended following his red card at Walsall last weekend while Kevin Lisbie came on from the final 17 minutes as he recovers from an ankle injury.

Robbie Simpson was consequently given a first start since he was released by Oldham at the end of last season.

James gave Orient the lead when he turned away from his marker in the corner of the penalty area and curled a shot into the top corner in first half stoppage time.

But Wells earned Bradford as point when his free kick sailed into the top corner after he was fouled by Mathieu Baudry.

“They fight for each other,” said Slade.

“We’ve scored in all but one game this season which is a credit to the boys. We were missing 27 or 28 goals which is a lot.

“There was no Mooney or Lisbie and we showed we won’t roll over.

“It shows the strength of the team.”
