Barking boss Mick O’Shea sends a pre-match warning to AFC Wimbledon ahead of the London Senior Cup clash.

Barking manager Mick O’Shea has issued a pre-Christmas warning to AFC Wimbledon ahead of their London Senior Cup clash at Mayesbrook Park in January: ‘We’re looking to knock you out!’

The Blues booked their place in the fourth round of the capital competition with a 3-1 win against Erith & Belvedere last Tuesday.

And that has set up a mouth-watering encounter with League Two opposition next month which Blues boss O’Shea admits he is already relishing.

He said: “It’s fantastic and it’s something we’re excited about.

“It’s a great opportunity to test my tactical nous against a professional rival. We’re looking forward to knocking them out!”

Goals by Theo Ola, Ben Turner and new signing Daniel Okah saw off the challenge of Erith, who sat in second place in the Kent Premier Division.

Ola put Barking ahead in the 21st minute when he beat a defender, cut inside from the left and fired inside the far post.

Turner doubled the home side’s advantage six minutes after the break when he headed home from a Kieran Walsh free-kick to mark his 101st appearance for the club in style.

Erith pulled a goal back through Andy Constable seven minutes later, but Okah wrapped things up five minutes from time.
