Metropolitan Police bowed out of the FA Cup but they nearly forced a replay against Crawley Town.
With 104 places separating the sides it was always going to be difficult for the Isthmian Premier Division side and Josh Simpson put Crawley into the lead.
Billy Clarke doubled it with 20 minutes remaining and although Alan Tait struck with seven minutes left they were unable to force a replay.
