Ilford FC have moved swiftly to bring back former boss Allan Fenn following the resignation of Martin Haywood.
Haywood handed in his resignation on Friday, ahead of their final Essex Senior League game of the season, which they lost 1-0 to Barking and meant a 16th place finish for the Cricklefield side.
Fenn, who has also previously managed Redbridge and Haringey Borough, was the Foxes boss back in 2005 when they won the then Ryman Division Two title.
And in a club statement, chairman Roger Chilvers said: “Following the resignation of Martin Haywood last Friday, Ilford have appointed ex-manager Allan Fenn as their manager for 2014-2015 season.
“Ilford, under Martin Haywood had recorded nine wins in a season of 44 games, despite all the effort and hard work put in by Martin and his team, and we wish him all the best of luck for the future. We are confident he will appear somewhere in out travels sometime in the future
“Allan Fenn is well known to Ilford supporters. He managed the Ilford team that gained promotion from the Essex Senior League, before moving on to manage at Redbridge, and Haringey.
“Always a ‘winner’, Alan will help settle the club and his enthusiasm will encourage our younger players to develop.”
