Ryman One North: Redbridge 2 Waltham Forest 1
Emiel Aiken scored what proved to be the winner as the Motormen picked up all three points at Oakside against the Stags.
Forest were on top in the opening exchanges but Daniel Francis kept up his rich vein of form in front of goal with the fourth-minute opener.
The former Stag saw his initial shot saved, before heading home the rebound past Husseyin in the Forest goal.
But the visitors were not to be denied and they duly equalised when Redbridge failed to clear their lines and Stephane Koffi let fly from distance and past Dean Driscoll in the home goal.
However, parity last just two minutes as a Redbridge header struck the bar, and then Aiken was first to react and poke home.
There were few chances after the break, but Richard Worrell spurned the best of those opportunitites for Forest.
With a number of games still to play between now and the end of the season, joint bosses Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton opted to bring off both goalscorers with 19 minutes to go, and replace them with Ben Bradbury and Steve Good.
But Redbridge had done enough to pick up the victory and the Motormen are back in action on Thursday night when they host AFC Sudbury at Oakside.
Redbridge: Driscoll, E Worrell, Bansende, T Thomas, Smith, Damali, Thompson, Carlile, Francis (Bradbury 71), Charge, Aiken (Good 71)
Unused substitutes: Dobson, Parish, Adamou.
