Transfer news: Clint Dempsey will not join his team-mates on their pre-season training camp in Switzerland
Unsettled Fulham star Clint Dempsey will take no part in the Cottagers’ pre-season training camp in Switzerland this week, fuelling speculation of a transfer to Liverpool.
Fulham claim the decision is down to the forward’s lack of match fitness, but it is reportedly a result of crunch talks with manager Martin Jol held on Friday.
The 29-year-old is reportedly keen to join Liverpool, and Reds manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed his interest in the American earlier this month.
Arsenal have also been linked with Dempsey, who scored 23 goals in 45 games for Fulham last season.
