Dagenham & Redbridge assistant boss Terry Harris felt his side were never at the races as they lost 1-0 at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday

Daggers assistant boss Terry Harris believed Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Wycombe was a wasted opportunity.

Three points would have lifted Daggers up the table and towards the play-offs after snow and frozen pitches saw most of League Two’s fixtures fall by the wayside.

And after being in a similar position with five wins out of seven before the festive period, Harris feels they failed to turn up and produce their best.

“We came here with high hopes, but nothing is guaranteed in this game,” said Harris. “We expected a Dagenham performance and, after the first 10-15 minutes when I thought we were in the ascendancy, we just seemed to die.

“There was absolutely nothing. It’s just disappointing because we came with high hopes, we knew it would be a tough game, but we didn’t deliver. It was all huff and puff and we never really seemed to get to the races.

“We seem to be getting below that 40-point mark and under the play-offs, then we don’t produce.”
