Dagenham & Redbridge have parted ways with striker Jake Reed by mutual consent.
The front man has fallen down the forward pecking order with the arrivals of Rhys Murphy and Zavon Hines at Victoria Road over the summer.
And boss Wayne Burnett felt the former Great Yarmouth youngster was a victim of the club’s successful front line, which has only failed to score on one occasion so far this season.
“Jake has been a little bit unfortunate since he’s been at the club and it has been a bit stop, start with him,” said Burnett.
“He’s now been limited to opportunities due to the fact that players have come in and done very well. I’d like to wish him all the very best and I hope he has lots of success throughout and during his football career.”
Reed was signed by former boss John Still from Great Yarmouth in July 2011, and only signed a new two-year deal at the club in January.
But his form in reserve team football and while he was with Great Yarmouth wasn’t replicated with the Daggers and he only scored one first-team goal, a consolation effort in the 4-2 home loss to Bristol Rovers in April.
