Dagenham & Redbridge have parted ways with striker Louis Dennis.
The young striker, who came through the club’s Academy, broke into the first team last season under previous boss John Still, and made his debut as a second half substitute at Wycombe Wanderers last January.
But he has found opportunities this season limited and did spend a spell on loan with Hayes & Yeading in a bid to get some game time under his belt.
The 21-year-old did score for the Daggers in the 4-1 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Colchester United at Victoria Road back in September, but only made two other substitute appearances this season.
Dennis had previously spent loan spells in non-league football with the likes of Grays Athletic, Canvey Island and Welling United, but after speaking to manager Wayne Burnett it’s been decided for both parties to go their separate ways.
Burnett told the club website: “It was felt best for both parties that his contract was terminated as his options were limited here at the club. I wish Louis all the best in his future and I hope that he succeeds in his career.”
Dennis is the fifth striker that Burnett has released in his time in charge, and he joins Gianluca Gracco, Jake Reed, Brian Woodall and Josh Scott in those that have left the club during Burnett’s time in charge at Victoria Road.
