Daggers captain Abu Ogogo ranked his wonder goal in the 3-3 draw at Oxford as ‘one of his best’.

Ogogo’s dipping 35-yard effort on 71 minutes rescued a League Two point for Wayne Burnett’s men and made it three goals in three games for the skipper.

He said: “It’s probably up there. That and the Chesterfield goal last season. I’m caught in between which one was better. But that was nice.

“I’ll score any goal, but to score a goal like that I’m buzzing with.

“I was saying to the boys, if you get a chance look at the keeper’s position because he started off his line quite far all game.

“I had a little look, saw him off his line, the ball bounced to me, I took a touch, it sat up nicely and I thought ‘I’m hitting this’.

“To be fair, as soon as I hit it I knew it had a good chance of going in.”

Ogogo sprinted back to celebrate in front of the 158 travelling Daggers fans and hopes to continue finding the net as his side seek to entertain.

He added: “I was happy with the goal but I ran quite far to celebrate and after that I was a bit tired, so I regretted it a bit!

“I set myself a target this season of double figures. Last season I got nine and was disappointed not to hit double figures. This season, that’s my target.

“I’ve got three in three so hopefully that will continue for as long as possible.

“Gaffer has given us licence to go out and play. He’d rather win a game 6-5 than 1-0.

“Going forward we look a threat, obviously, and can score goals and look dangerous but if could just tighten up defensively and cut out the goals I think we’ll do well this season.”

Having extended their unbeaten run to three matches at the Kassam Stadium, Daggers welcome Northampton to Victoria Road on Saturday.

And Ogogo says the mood in the dressing room is good as they look to end a bad run of results against the Cobblers.

He added: “To come back from 3-2 down, when their goals have been a bit fortunate, I would’ve taken a point.

“We’re at home, we’re on a good run at the moment. We haven’t had the best results against them in the past, but hopefully that will change come Saturday.

“The mood’s good, the boys are doing well, obviously picking up results.

“The first few games of the season, results-wise wasn’t the best, but I thought performance-wise they were all right. It wasn’t as bad as everyone was saying, but the boys are buzzing. The mood is good.”
