Chesterfield assistant manager Leam Richardson believes Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett has done a great job this season – and has voted his as one of the managers of the year.
Many expected Burnett’s side to endure another tough season in the league, but they have surprised a number of people, and going into tomorrow’s game between the two sides, Richardson rates the job done by the Victoria Road chief very highly.
“We expect a good game,” Richardson told the Chesterfield Post. “Wayne Burnett has done a good job, we’ve voted for him as one of the managers of the year, as managing Dagenham is a tough job - he’s had them playing good football all year.”
The Spireites are on the verge of promotion out of League Two but Richardson insists the job isn’t complete yet.
“Everyone has something to play for - everyone is a threat, everyone has their own battles, there’s still all to play for,” he added.
“Our focus is on Dagenham and four points from the last two games will be good points - and things will look better than they do now.”
