On the injury front, Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett hopes midfielder Billy Bingham will be back training within a week or so, while the club are awaiting results of a scan on Matt Saunders’ injured ankle.
Bingham’s absence has been a big blow for the Daggers since injuring his medial knee ligaments in a collision with team-mate Afolabi Obafemi at AFC Wimbledon back in November.
And Burnett was bitterly frustrated that his ‘ideal replacement’ in Saunders soon joined him on the treatment table after picking up a knock on the ankle in the Essex Senior Cup tie with East Thurrock.
“Billy could be back in a week or two but I’d still like to strengthen the squad and we are awaiting the test results of Matt Saunders injury,” he added.
“It’s so frustrating for both us and Matt. At the time we thought nothing of the incident but it’s proved to be a difficult one.”
