Chelsea star Fernando Torres pipped Manchester City ace Mario Balotelli the Euro 2012 golden boot after scoring in the final as well as providing an assist for team-mate Juan Mata.

The striker scored three goals in the tournament, along with Balotelli and Mario Gomez but, in providing the fourth goal for Mata it gave him the personal honour.

The Blues striker had only scored 12 goals for the west Londoners in 67 games and the award could mean a new Fernando Torres could grace Stamford Bridge next season.
