Arsenal defender Johan Djourou is confident that he will grab his chance next season, despite a drop in form during the last campaign.

The Switzerland international only made 18 appearances in the league and was only on the winning side in eight of those games as he fell out of favour at the Emirates.

“Arsenal have chosen to extend my contract because they’re counting on me,” Djourou told blick.ch.

“I did have a bad spell.

“However, I’m convinced that I will get another chance and that I will grab that chance.
