Essex Cup: Little Ilford 1 Marshalls Park 7
Marshalls Park’s under-14s produced a superb second-half display to put Little Ilford out of this year’s county cup last night.
Daniel Carter fired the visitors ahead inside 10 minutes with a left-footed strike, but Little Ilford got back on level terms when a free-kick was headed home by their striker after some sloppy Park defending.
And the scoreline remained unchanged until after the restart, when Park struck six more times to run out convincing winners of the first round tie.
Adam Garson led the way with a hat-trick, with Toby Stuteley, Alfie Luscombe and Jack Porter also on target to complete the rout.
Teacher Paul Aylett said: “The boys played well in the second half. Hopefully the good run will continue when they take on Caterham (at home) in the next round.
“There were some good performances from a number of players, including Harvey Jolliffe and Calum Nightingill.
“For his hat-trick and his movement with and without the ball, Adam Garson earnt the man of the match award.”
