Highams club recorded a 52-12 win at home on Saturday

Head coach Tom Redfern was pleased with the improvement he saw from Woodford in a 52-12 win at home to Harlow in London Two North East.

The Highams club ran in eight tries in total, with Sonny Spicer, Will Cooper-Rendu, Matt Farrington, James Baxandall, Rellon McRae, Johnny Smith, Tom Redfern and Tom Hemmings all dotting down in the win.

By beating Harlow, Woodford were able to follow up on their opening-day success at Basildon.

Redfern admitted he was not overly pleased with the Highams club’s performance at Basildon, so was pleased they rectified it with a strong display against Harlow.

“It was a better performance than the one we have at Basildon and that is what we wanted from the boys,” he said.

“We took our time to get going against Harlow, but we looked dangerous in attack once we were up and running.”

Woodford are next in action on Saturday when they make the trip to Southwold, who have also won their opening two fixtures.
