London One North basement boys have time to prepare after suffering defeat on Saturday
Woodford coach Andy Murphy is happy to have Saturday off and allow his players time to recuperate.
The Highams outfit face Letchworth Garden City on January 31 after starting 2015 with two wins and one loss.
They were beaten last weekend for the first time this year as Luton proved too strong and ran out 31-10 winners.
And Murphy is happy to have the weekend off, he said: “We are pretty battered and bruised.
“We just need to make sure we get a few good training sessions in before Letchworth.
“But our centre Matt Barrett will definitely be out for a while because he was knocked out cold on Saturday.
“He was out for a good five minutes and needed an ambulance so he won’t play.”
Although Woodford were beaten at home by Luton, Murphy was pleased with their performance.
Alex Pollock and Charlie Simpson got their tries during the 21-point loss.
Murphy added: “The first 20 minutes against Luton it was a bit like a training session. We didn’t have the continuity from the previous two weeks so the first 20 was people getting used to each other.
“But it was a good performance and we didn’t die a death. We competed for the majority of the game and that was very pleasing.”
Woodford were deducted more points this week to leave their London One North total at just three, despite three wins this campaign.
A frustrated Murphy revealed why they had picked up another five-point penalty, adding: “We have had two deductions now.
“The first was because a player didn’t get registered until the day after the game against Letchworth.
“We sent it off in the post and it turned out it didn’t get registered until the game had been played.
“And the second was for not playing the Manor match so us being on eight points was shortlived. But we need to build for next year now.”
