Yellowlees, previously on loan with the club last season from London Scottish re-signs for another year
Barking’s director of rugby Dean Cutting feels plans are coming quickly into place as they prepare for life back in National Two South.
Since returning to Goresbrook from East London rugby club, Cutting has set about his business and they have secured the services of Tom Yellowlees, who was with the club for a large chunk of last season on loan from Championship side London Scottish.
The openside flanker has accepted terms for the new season and is one of a number of signings for the Gale Street outfit as the Goresbrook chief targets a squad of between 35-40 players following Barking’s decision to run a second team during the new campaign.
“I feel we are recruiting well, but we are still looking at a couple of players who I feel could play a big role,” said Cutting.
“We have managed to re-sign Tom for the season and I feel he’ll be a very strong player for us this season.
“We will now have three senior teams and I feel that will be vital.
“Last season there was only a first and a third team.
“That meant there was no place to give a few players coming back from injuries, or those needing games the chance to return to full fitness.
“This will also give some of our impressive colts – the likes of Mitchell Sinfield – the chance to impress.”
