National Two South: Dings Crusaders 32 Barking 10

Barking lose out 32-10 at Dings on Saturday despite putting up a strong battle for the majority of the encounter, only for Dings to pull away.

The hosts had not played since January 12 due to the weather and despite a sluggish start, held an 11-3 lead over Nick Warren’s side at the break.

Mark Woodrow’s penalty saw Dings 3-0 ahead and Auguy Slowik crossed the try line to put them into an 8-0 lead.

Ollie Forrest got Barking’s first points of the match with a 29th minute penalty but Woodrow replicated the achievement for the hosts on the stroke of half time.

Five minutes into the second period James Oakley gave the hosts some further breathing space and Woodrow converted for a 18-3 lead.

Warren’s side then enjoyed their best spell of the game early in the second half and wing Charlie Baffour-Awuah scored a try converted by James Fouracre to put them right back in the game at 18-10.

And it wasn’t until the final 12 minutes that the hosts made sure of the winning bonus point as Ed Hack and Matty Wright scored converted tries to seal a 32-10 win.

On Saturday, Barking host Shelford, a squad which could contain former Barking boy Sean Mullins.
