Charlie faces a busy time
The London Borough of Redbridge Swimming Club will send eight swimmers to this year’s National Swimming Championships in Sheffield.
The club will also send a boys’ relay team to the Age Group Championships.
The Youth Championships will commence on July 17.
Charlie Dentith will compete in the 200 metres butterfly, 200m backstroke, 200m breaststroke, 200m individual medley and 400m IM.
Dentith has also qualified for the 400m and 1,500m freestyle.
Craig Moate will compete in the 100m backstroke and 200m freestyle in the multi-disability category.
The Age Group Championships, for swimmers aged between 11-14, start on July 22.
Eloise Montanana qualified for the 400m and 800m freestyle.
Lucy Harwood has qualified for the 100m butterfly and will compete at the national championships for the first time. Frank McGuirk qualified for the 200m backstroke and is also a member of the boys’ 4x200m relay team.
Travel
Kenneth Man, Ryan Nicholls and Fraser Scott will travel to Sheffield as members of the 4x200m freestyle relay team.
Meanwhile, club-mate Mathuri Karunakaran is set to compete a little further afield.
Karunakaran has flown to Sri Lanka to swim in their national championships and will enter the 100m and 200m backstroke, 200m and 400m freestyle and 400m IM.
