Redbridge performance badminton squad member Sajan Senthuran battled his way to the boys singles final at the Webber under-11’s tournament, collecting a silver medal for his efforts.

Senthuran beat the number one seed, Hampshire’s Yarik Lewis, 11-8 and 11-7 in the semi-final before losing to Surry’s Siddhanth Shirol in the final.

Fellow Performance squad members Sidhaant Garg and Rajvardhan Gavade paired up in the boy’s doubles and collected bronze medals for their efforts.

At the Essex Senior restricted tournament, Redbridge Sports and Leisure members, Akhil Pillai and Rosemary Allen won silver medals in the men’s singles and ladies doubles respectively.

The Essex junior restricted badminton tournament takes place this weekend at Redbridge Sports and Leisure Centre.

Play starts at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday.
