newly-formed club enjoy good return at first external cometition
Redbridge Sports & Leisure Centre’s newly-formed elite gymnastics squad returned from a competition at Goresbrook Leisure Centre with plenty to shout about.
It was their first external competition after being created by head coach Beth Lion, who is assisted by Amber Edwards.
Throughout the weekend the gymnasts were awarded pins for their achievements, with 17 of the 22 participating picking up an award, while the squad also came away with four gold, two silver and five bronze medals.

Leading the way in the general gymnastics competition, featuring floor and vault events, were Tolani Aradeo, Grace Seach, Ameya Ramani and Lola Lester, who all picked up pins in the blue and white categories to go alongside their gold medals.
Silver medal winners included Ava Best and Sapphire Walters, while they were also awarded pins in blue and white categories respectively.
Zoe Conway, Connie Portman, Isabella Roukin, Kayleigh Fitzgerald and Olivia Harwood all returned with bronze medals alongside their pins.
Not leaving the event empty handed were Caiman Williamson, Klara Sheehan, Hannah Mendez, Tae Worrow-Ford, Alia Zaloum and Zak Shetwi, who also returned with pins from their first competition.
Head coach Lion said: “For our first event it is an extremely great effort from everyone involved. This bodes well for the regional finals in November.”
