Lainy’s Mob got their Ilford Social Centre League Challenge Cup campaign off to a great start with a big victory in their opening group stage match.

In the opening stage of this year’s competitions, sides have been split into two pools with Lainy’s Mob in Group B alongside Abbots, Barkingside Royals and Beehive.

In their opening match, Lainy’s Mob were able to ease to a 7-2 triumph against Barkingside, despite a Royals player throwing 180 in defeat.

The other match in Group B saw Beehive edge out Abbots 5-4 in what was a thrilling match.

Group A, meanwhile, is this year comprised of Cruisers, Eastwood, Loxford and Parks.

In their opening encounter, Cruisers were able to collect a 5-4 victory in their game against Loxford.

Group A’s other match-up in the opening round of fixtures saw Eastwood get the better of Parks, winning 5-4.

This season’s Challenge Cup looks set to feature plenty of fierce competition.
