Hainault Roads Cycling Club’s Russell Kober storms to win in Charlotteville 25-mile time trial.
Hainault Roads Cycling Club’s Russell Kober reigned supreme in Hampshire on Saturday.
Kober took part in the Charlotteville 25-mile time trial and despite difficult conditions he recorded a time of 52 minutes and 52 seconds to win the event, which had over 120 other competitors.
A strong wind made the race hard in places, but the conditions were mastered by Kober who made excellent progress on the harder sections of the course to gain time on his closest rivals.
Also in this event was Hainault’s lady racer Jo Johnson, who recorded a personal best time of 1:21.41.
Johnson is making steady improvements in her racing performances as the season progresses and she looks like making a clean sweep of the Hainault ladies’ trophies this year.
Also recording a successful performance was Rob Dulson who came fourth in the Eastern Counties Cycling Association 10-mile time trial with a time of 24.09 last Wednesday.
Riding strongly in both wet and windy conditions with a head wind over the last five miles, the Chigwell Row-based cyclist’s long distance strength enabled him to beat many of his rivals who had travelled from all over the county.
Also riding was John Witchell who recorded a time of 29.10.
