Leyton Orient manager Mauro Milanese expressed his happiness as O’s finally secured their first home win of the season with a 2-0 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy success over Northampton Town.

A first half strike from Jay Simpson and Marvin Bartley’s 90th minute effort secured their passage into the southern area semi-final as Milanese also secured his first win since taking over at the Brisbane Road.

And while he would have liked to make the result safe much sooner than they did, he was relieved for both the players and supporters to pick up that elusive home victory.

“I am happy for all the players for the supporters as they have stayed very close to us the whole time,” said Milanese.

“We created chances with some good touches and we did okay. Sometimes we can play better or switch sides better, but we deserved the win and we had a lot opportunities.

“We could have scored the second goal earlier but I am happy for the lads.”

Milanese also gave Scott Kashket an extended run out, introducing the academy graduate early in the second half for Jay Simpson, who did hobble off through injury.

And though the Italian felt Kashket made the wrong choice of boots for tonight’s match, he believes everyone at the club should be proud of the strides he is making in E10.

“Maybe he made a mistake about the shoes because he was on the floor twice but you get passion with the youth,” he added.

“I am happy when someone from the academy get themselves on the pitch and it should give everyone involved with the academy great satisfaction.”

Having a brand new kitchen is something that lots of people want but can only dream of. Sadly keeping up to date and making our living spaces as nice as they can be is a costly and incredibly stressful business. Even a fresh coat of paint makes all the difference but isn’t easy or quick.
