Redbridge were knocked out of the Essex Senior Cup by league rivals Saffron Walden at Oakside on Tuesday.

Motormen went into the tie on the back of an FA Vase win over Peterborough Northern Star at the weekend, but found themselves behind before the half-hour mark as Dan Trendall netted for the Bloods.

The visitors had a chance to double their advantage but missed a penalty, before Lewis Francis did make it 2-0 on 61 minutes.

The home side halved the deficit three minutes later through Samuel Phillips, but Walden secured their progress three minutes from time when Trendall claimed his second goal of the night.

Redbridge travel to Stanway Rovers on Saturday for a Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy clash.

Redbridge: Hyams, Miller, Gayer, Duggan, Coulson, Egbejale, Asare, Kyungu, Stevenson, Phillips, Turner. Subs: Bowyer, Adelekan, Massamba, Osenie, Ogboin.

Saffron Walden: O’Sullivan, Crane, Ledwith, Fleming, Solkhon, Strong, Calver, J Mead, Davies, Trendall, Francis. Subs: Hewitt, Naylor, Skeggs, S Mead, Portway.
