Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade insists Gary Sawyer and Lloyd James are making ‘good progress’ on their return to first-team action.

Sawyer and James both took part in training on Thursday following tendonitis and thigh injuries respectively, but whether the duo could make a return at Scunthorpe remains to be seen.

“Gary and Lloyd are making good progress,” said Slade. “It’s the first full session for Lloyd who had half a session before that and Gary that’s probably about his third session back so we are pleased with that.

“There are a few that didn’t train on Thursday as a result of Tuesday’s exertions but we’ll have a clearer picture soon.

“Hopefully we won’t have too many doubts but there are one or two niggly things which need to clear up in the next 24 hours.”

Definitely out of the trip to Glanford Park are goalkeeper Adam Legzdins (finger) and Kevin Lisbie (shoulder).

For Scunthorpe, Eddie Nolan and midfielder Neal Bishop could return to the matchday squad after recovering from thigh and foot injuries respectively.
