Orient manager Russell Slade says it’s time for the O’s to reverse their terrible record at Vale Park.

They travel to Port Vale tonight aiming to continue their promotion drive after Saturday’s goalless draw at League One’s bottom club Notts County.

The O’s have only won once in Staffordshire in the last 57 years and Slade is expecting another tough game.

“We’ll have to change that record at Vale Park immediately,” he joked.

“We’ll do our best and give everything on Tuesday, as we always do.

“All I know is that Port Vale are a physical side and it will be a difficult game.”

The Valiants have an outside chance of making the play-offs in their first season back in League One, lying nine points adrift of sixth place with 12 games remaining.

They have an inconsistent home record and Slade is hopeful the O’s fans continue to support their team on the road.

“The support were excellent, as the away fans have been all season and hopefully it will be the same,” Slade added.

Vale ran Orient close in the reverse fixture in east London, with Kevin Lisbie scoring an 88th-minute winner in a 3-2 win after David Mooney’s double.

Saturday sees Orient welcome Brentford to Brisbane Road in a crunch promotion clash which will be live on Sky Sports.

But any talk of the meeting with their London rivals will wait until after tonight’s encounter, according to Scott Cuthbert.

“We can’t dare to get ahead of ourselves and start thinking about Saturday,” the Scottish defender said.

“You take your eye of the ball against Port Vale. We’ll watch the tapes, put Notts County to bed and prepare to face Port Vale. Brentford will wait.”

Top scorer Mooney is rated 50/50 to be available due to a rib injury and defender Mathieu Baudry is likely to miss out with a hamstring strain.

Vale defender Liam Chilvers will miss the match after having minor groin surgery. But former Orient midfielder Anthony Griffith, who plied his trade at Brisbane Road last season, making 28 appearances for the club, should return from a hip injury which ruled him out of the win against Carlisle on Saturday.
