Former Tottenham Hotspur defender has penned two-and-a-half year deal with O’s

Leyton Orient have announced Justin Edinburgh as the new head coach of the National League outfit.

The O’s have been without a permanent boss since Steve Davis was sacked on November 14.

Edinburgh, who previously guided Newport County out of England’s fifth tier, has been named as Davis’ replacement, penning a two-and-a-half year deal with O’s.

The new man in the dugout has a tough job on his hands, with the east Londoners having not won any of their last 14 games in the league.

Edinburgh will take charge of Orient for the first time this weekend when they make the trip to bottom club Solihull Moors.

As well as his spell with Newport, the former Tottenham Hotspur defender has also managed Billericay Town, Fisher Athletic, Grays Athletic, Rushden & Diamonds and Gillingham.

The 47-year-old was most recently in charge of League One outfit Northampton Town, but was sacked in August after less than 10 months at the helm.
