Ilford joint-manager Billy Cove is aiming to win the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy and capture some silverware.

The Foxes travel away to Waltham Forest in the quarter-finals of the cup competition this evening (7.45pm) at Wadham Lodge as they look to cement their progress into the semi-finals.

Cove is under no illusions of the tough task they face after their opponents have began to find some form in recent weeks.

“I’m expecting a very tough game, they are another team on the way up, and have had a few very good results lately,” Cove said.

“We will be making a few personnel changes, as we have a couple of injuries, and a few players are cup tied.”

Waltham Forest are struggling financially and were on the pitch as well until recent weeks and former player Cove believes the club is doing everything right and he is hoping they get themselves out of trouble.

“I think they’ve made the right improvements player wise, and they are getting some positive results,” he said.

“They’re a club very close to my heart, as I had many good years there as a player.

“I pray that they get their way out of the situation they are currently in.”
