Ilford booked their place in the semi-finals of the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy with victory at Wadham Lodge on Wednesday.

Held to a 1-1 draw by Burnham Ramblers in the Essex Senior League on Saturday, the Foxes took an early lead as an unmarked James Peagram headed home in the second minute.

Abiola Tanimowo fired straight at Chris Clark, under pressure from an Ilford defender, as the home side looked to reply.

But the visitors held on to their lead, despite coming under more pressure late in the first half.

Ilford doubled their lead after the restart and saw Clark tip over a shot from Jayden Charles, before Tanimowo went close again.

Forest had another effort cleared off the line, while Dominic Shephard was also frustrated from a corner.

Ilford protected their lead in the time remaining to secure victory and will now focus on their return to league action with a trip to Stansted on Saturday.
