Side boss to remain until the end of the season at least.

Barkingside have received a big boost with manager Matt Frew agreeing to stay on until the end of the season at least.

Frew had decided to take a break from the dugout in recent weeks due to health reasons, but will remain in charge for the remainder of the campaign as they look to secure their spot in the Ryman North for another season.

A delighted chairman, Jimmy Flanagan said: “Matt has decided to remain as Barkingside manager until at least the end of the current season and everyone at the club is thrilled that he has decided to do this.

“I would also like to thank Mel Ramsay and the rest of the coaching staff for helping keep the side ticking over whilst Matt was away.”

Barkingside saw Saturday’s game at home to Thurrock called off because of a waterlogged pitch, but will hope to return to action tomorrow night when they travel to Cheshunt.
