Barkingside had to settle for a share of the spoils after being pegged back and held tto a 2-2 draw by mid-table rivals Waltham Forest.

Side took a two goal lead in the first-half but Forest fought back to salvage a draw at Kitchener Road.

The visitors went in front in the 16th minute direct from a corner kick as Aaron Hunwicks netted his first goal for the club.

Michael Walther’s men then doubled their lead in the 30th minute through in-form Roddy Lemba who capitalised on another error at the back.

Forest grabbed clawed one back early on in the second half though when Paul Scott curled a shot into the net.

The hosts then levelled the match up when Christian Owusu got on the end of lovely ball from Ryan Maxwell to slot it home.

Neighbours Ilford fell to a 1-0 defeat against promotion hopefuls Great Wakering Rovers.

Billy Johnson netted four minutes into the second-half to send Rovers top of the Essex Senior League on goal difference after sealing the three points at Cricklefield Stadium.
